New Lockdown

Posted on: 04 Jan 2021

Dear parents and carers,

Well, we had a cracking plan for tomorrow but need to change it! I am sure you would have heard the announcement that all schools will be shut from tomorrow. I will write to you all again in the morning with more details of what will happen but for tomorrow this is the plan.

  • There are no changes to the year 7 and 8 plan and remote learning will go ahead as planned and the key worker group will start in school at 8.45am.  Please make sure you have completed the COVID test consent form.

  • We are expecting that year 5 and 6 children are not coming in and you do not need to tell us if this is the case.

  • Because of the short notice there will not be high quality home or school learning for Year 5 and 6 tomorrow. On Wednesday, we will be up and running with high quality home learning and will send information out about this.

  • For tomorrow only please use Oak academy for online learning https://classroom.thenational.academy/schedule-by-year

  • For tomorrow, if you are a key worker and desperately need your child to be in school, please email westley@buryedu.org to let us know that your child is coming in. They will need to be in school at 8.45am.

  • Tomorrow, I will send out the criteria regarding key workers and you can book your child a place in school for the rest of the week.

  • Trust transport from County Upper and Acacia Avenue will not be running but we think public transport is running but don`t know due to the short notice of this announcement.

I am so sorry for the timing of all of this. As a parent and teacher I am as frustrated as anyone but we must do what is safe. Unless it is urgent please hold fire on any emails until you hear from me tomorrow with a more detailed plan.

Stay safe

Yours sincerely

Mr Jeffery
