Tollgate Primary Campus

Tollgate Logo

Tollgate School was opened in 1951 and is situated in pleasant grounds with a large playing field and a hard surfaced playground. In 1996 our Nursery Unit opened. Our pupils are drawn from the Mildenhall Road Estate, the Fornham Road and Northgate Avenue Districts, the Barton Hill District and the Fornham villages.

Tollgate Primary School aims to provide an environment where children have the independence, respect and opportunities to make good choices which will increase their learning potential throughout their lives. We aim to develop cohesion and unity within both our local and global communities through support, encouragement, understanding and inclusion.

If you would like any of the information on this web site in printed form please contact us. We make no charge for this.

Going All-Through
This is a time of great change in education nationally. While other schools locally are adjusting to their recent move to a two-tier system, our schools are already established and very confident with the forward looking All-Through system. As a result, all the schools in our Trust are able to focus solely on our core mission of helping every pupil to reach his or her potential by providing a seamless education from 4-19.

Any child in Year 4 who is not already in our system can choose to move into the All-Through Trust. Indeed, parents with children of all ages are very welcome to attend one of our open events and/or to have an individual tour. To find out what you need to do and how to get an application form visit the admissions page.

KS2 explore SpaceKS2 explore Space

Children in Years 3 and 4 all got a chance to learn about space inside Kinetic Science's pop-up Planetarium. Excited chatter could be heard as the children left the hall; they were all sharing facts about the planets and the International Space Station. We were privileged to welcome our local MP, Jo Churchill, to join Orca Class for their planetarium experience. The staff from Kinetic Science praised all the children for their enthusiasm and listening skills throughout the sessions. Well done KS2!

FatherFather's Day Breakfast

On Friday 16th June, we celebrated Father's Day with a special breakfast. Over 100 Dads, Grandads and children came along. Thank you for making it a great success. Our cooks, Lynsey and Debs, did a fantastic job.

Nursery Art WorkshopNursery Art Workshop

Children in Nursery took part in an art workshop as part of Bury in Bloom. Pictures of flowers and mini beasts were used as the inspiration for creating the wall hanging squares. The children drew their flower or mini beast in chalk, they then painted over the top. Finally, the children added buttons and ribbons for extra decoration. Each fabric square will be scanned and used in banners around the town. All our squares will be sewn together and a wall hanging created - we will display this in school. Thank you to Madeleine Roberts who led the workshop.
