The Extended Curriculum

‘Project Wednesday’

One afternoon each week to be designated for cross-curricular project work. Companies to set termly challenges that students work together to complete.

Example: Bath Bomb Challenge set by a partner company

Students will experiment and find the best ratio of ingredients, design the bath bomb, prepare the packaging, create the marketing campaign and calculate costings. At the end of the project, the students would present to company representatives.

Extra-curricular clubs

In order to ensure that the curriculum is extended, the students will be able to choose from a selection of clubs.

Extra-curricular Subjects and Qualifications

  • GCSE Astronomy
  • Languages: Mandarin, Japanese, Latin and Conversational/Technical Language

Students will also take part in a number of other projects throughout the year including:

  • Careers Activities
  • STEMM Youth Awards
  • IOP Ambassador Programme
  • Community Outreach Events (Astronomy Evening, Science Festival)

The Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine Youth Award is a national scheme similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.
